Pond Mills is in the southeast corner of the city with great access to both the natural wonder of Westminster Ponds and the 401 Highway. Its homes are a mix of single detached houses built in the 1970s and 1980s, townhomes, and some small apartment buildings. There is a large commercial corridor along Commissioners Road that has many shops and services, including the Pond Mills Branch library.
The main park in the neighbourhood is Southeast Optimist Park, which has two baseball diamonds, a half-basketball court, playground and spray pad with washroom facilities. Pond Mills also contains two of the beautiful ponds of the Westminster Ponds/Pond Mills Environmentally Significant Area. There are great trails around the ponds that allow residents to connect with nature and see many of the distinct wildlife and plant species that live in the area.
Students in Ponds Mills attend Glen Cairn and St. Sebastian elementary schools, both of which are located near the neighbourhood. High school-aged students attend Sir Wilfrid Laurier and Regina Mundi secondary schools.
