Nelson Park is located within the Argyle neighbourhood in east London.  There is a wide range of housing in this neighbourhood, including single detached homes, duplexes, townhouses, three-storey walk-up apartments, as well as a mobile home park.  The neighbourhood sits just east of Argyle Mall, which is a main transit hub and commercial centre for residents.  

There are two quiet parks in the neighbourhood; Admiral, which has a paved walking path and baseball diamond and Nelson, which has a walking path, baseball diamond, and a play structure with a swing set.  Bonaventure Meadows Park is a larger park with more open green space and a spray pad.  Bonaventure Meadows Public School is located next to the park and is one of four elementary schools in the neighbourhood, along with Lord Nelson Public, and London Christian Private. Clarke Road and John Paul II are the secondary schools for the neighbourhood.
